The modern marketplace
Most people are well aware of the fact that they need some form of online presence. But it's often a much more difficult concern than one might expect. The days when a company had one path to online marketing is long gone. These days people are given far more choices. From social media options to different levels of bandwidth. However, there's one issue that doesn't get nearly enough attention. It's among the first things a company should concern itself with when going online. But at the same time it's also one of the more difficult to really understand. And that one question comes down to nature of one's server.
Making the choice between servers
The question people really need to consider can be somewhat misleading. People often make a common but understandable mistake. They ask themselves how much internet power they need at the moment. But what's a better question is how much power will be needed in the near future. A basic server is known as shared. It's a server option that's somewhat similar to an apartment complex. One large building becomes many smaller homes. And in the case of servers, that one large server becomes sectioned off into smaller shared servers. This is a fantastic option for people running personal sites or who don't expect any large long term growth. It's a solid option, but often not the best if someone wants to grow their business. In those cases people want what's known as a dedicated server. This is closer to having full run of the large building rather than having it sectioned off into apartments. To look at the term, these servers are dedicated to the task of hosting the site. The main reason a company might want to start there is also similar to buildings. Moving often isn't easy. And that goes for both the real world and the digital one. Starting off with a dedicated server gives room for easy expansion.
